Part three coming soon...

Bandit ran home as fast as he could. When he got there the pack had dragged an elk carcass to the den to burry for food later. Bandit rushed up to his dad, alpha of the pack. “Dad, Jakita has been captured by the two-leggeds! We have to save him!” Bandit exclaimed. Juba just smiled and walked back into the den.

The pack dashed over to the scene of the accident. Soba sniffed the blood stain on the black road. “I found his sent, let’s go!” Soba ordered. Everyone did as told and followed.

A few hours later one of the pack members told Soba, “Soba, can we please stop for the night the wind is really strong and the blizzard has started to kick up.” Soba nodded and they set up camp for the night. But Soba could not sleep; the thought of his son dyeing was horrible. He knew Jakita would stay strong and make it home okay. He trotted over to his mate, Luna, who was now fast asleep. He sat next to her and watched the stars, hoping that Jakita would be okay.

When the sun arose the pack set out to find Jakita. Soba and Luna led, and everyone else followed. Juba, who didn’t even care if Jakita stays alive or not, as long as he got to be next alpha, stayed in the back. They were in a dead-run, stopping only for five to ten minutes to rest. They were determined to fine Jakita, and do whatever it took to bring him home.

The room was bright, crowded and quite. Jakita was afraid of what would happen to him. The humans were getting closer with sharp objects Jakita had never seen before. He tried to move but failed in the attempt. He had been given a needle before to make him num so he wouldn’t be in pain. One human put a muzzle on his face witch really made Jakita angry. He tried to fight it but another human held him down, and he put a new mask over him and his eyes shut.

When he awoke he was in a cadge somewhere. There were other animals in cadges too. The room was filled with despair and sadness. When finally Jakita piped up to the other animals, “What is this place?”

A shaggy beagle from the cadge across from Jakita’s answered, “You’re in the pound my friend.”

“What is a pound?” Jakita asked while looking around the room hoping for a way out.

“A place were animals go that need good homes.” An Irish wolfhound in the cadge next to Jakita’s replied.

“But I already have a home with my family. I’m not someone’s pet! I’m a wolf, not a dog!” Jakita snapped.

“Take it easy there bud. You’re gonna be fine.” The beagle replied.

Hours and hours went by; Jakita lied on his back with his paws in the air. Staring at the ceiling of his cadge. He sniffed the air, he could smell food. He was starving, his mouth watered as the food came closer to him. Then a human appeared, he had dog bowls filled with food. “Are ya’ hungry boy? Are ya’?” The human said using baby talk. Jakita stood up getting ready for his escape. The man opened the cadge and when it was wide enough for Jakita to break free. He jumped out and slid on the waxed tile floor. Jakita didn’t run to the door he dashed to the button on the wall that opened all the dog cadges. He jumper up on two legs and pushed the button with his nose. The dog crates flew open and the dogs sprung onto the floor and bolted for the door. The staff tried to catch all the dogs, but they only caught one or two. Jakita dashed into the woods. Covered in the shade the trees brought.

He froze in his tracks. There was a dog husky; she had a rust color coat and white on her stomach. She had a collar on so he knew she was a house pet. He trotted over to her, “Hello.”

“Hello, who are you?” The dog asked.

“My name’s Jakita, whats yours?” He replied.

“I’m Tala, nice to meet you Jakita.” Tala added.

Then we heard a loud noise, “TALA! WHERE ARE YOU GIRL?” A little human called.

“Oh I have to go now my owner is calling.” Tala said as she trotted back to her worried owner.

Jakita walked beside her to make sure she got to her owner okay. Tala’s owner was holding her leash in her hand when she let out a sigh of relief from finding her dog.  Her owner, Sara, clipped the leash on her dog, then she looked up and saw Jakita. She knelt down and put out her hand for him to sniff. He slowly took a step closer so he could sniff her. Sara started to pet his head. Jakita grew uneasy but let her pet him. She unclipped Luna and made a collar out of the leash and started to walk towards the town.

Jakita followed, walking by Sara and Tala. They trotted into town up to Sara’s house, she opened the door and Tala coasted Jakita in. Sara ran up to her mom and dad, “Mommy, daddy I found a stray dog! Can we keep him please? He has nowhere else to go.”

“Fine. But he has to see the vet first thing tomorrow morning to make sure he doesn’t have diseases.” Sara’s parents said.

“Yay! Thank you so much!” Sara exclaimed with joy. She ran into the living room where Jakita and Tala were. She told them he could stay, but he had to go to the vet tomorrow. Sara bolted out the door with her pocket filled with money from her piggy bank.

“But Tala I’m not a house pet, I’m a wolf.” Jakita whispered.

                “That’s okay.” Luna said.

When Sara ran back in the house all her money was gone, and she had to big bags. She knelt down on the floor and took a collar out of the bag. The collar was had black leather and a golden tag that said, Jakita. Jakita held his head high to show off his new collar. Tala and Jakita both giggled. Sara pulled out a dog bed; it was a big round woven basket with a red pillow inside it. She put it right next to Tala’s bed by the fire place.

When night came all was still. Jakita couldn’t sleep; he had to know if the pack was still there, waiting for him. He got up and tried to be real quite. He slipped through the doggy door and dashed outside. He headed for the packs den. When he got there, there was no one to be seen. Jakita thought they abandoned him. He lied down in the den with his paws over his head. He knew he somehow had to find his family, he wasn’t a dog, he was a wolf. So he had to live like a wolf. Jakita decided that in the morning he would leave on his quest.
