Nicole’s P.O.V. My team blazed down the trail, kicking up the snow as we raced to our destination. I was panting heavily as I quickened my pace, much to the annoyance of my team “slow down Nikkie” Comet complained “sorry pal” I called back. I was so relieved when we finally came into town, we stopped in front of the post office and my master Perrault, a medium sized man with a thick Canadian accent went inside for directions and such. Another dog team pulled up beside us the dogs looked at us funny, I simply flashed them a polite smile and looked away. When Perrault finally came out the other human was unloading mail “Do ya need some wit dat?” he asked “oh, that would be great thanks” the man answered my team started giggling. “Guys cut it out” I said fighting back a giggle myself I felt someone staring at me I turned slightly and saw a red and white male staring at me smiling. I smiled back a little more timid though. Hearing the door open I jerked my head round to see Perrault and the other man come out. Perrault began unhooking us ‘Thank goodness’ I thought as he un hooked me ‘red over there is starting to scare me, oh gosh he’s still staring!’ Despite this I stayed calm and trotted over to Comet; we walked around town learning where everything was, meeting town dogs, etcetera, etcetera, and etcetera. We walked to the boiler room I pushed the door open and stepped in ‘dang red is here’ I thought to myself I ignored him and walked over and curled up by the boiler, my tail hiding my nose and drifted to sleep. Of course I didn’t sleep long because not ten minuets later Jeremy and Spencer walked in laughing I stared at them through half closed eyes. “hey boss” Jeremy greeted casually “what’s up J” I replied pulling myself up to a sitting position someone cleared their throat obviously wanting my attention I turned to see red sitting next to me “hello” He said politely “my name’s Kodi” he was smiling again “hi I’m Nicole you can just call me Nikkie” I said just as politely That’s one thing I like about me I can hide my emotions “you alright you look a little nervous” Kodi said. ‘shoot’ “uh…y-yea I’m fine just tired he smiled warmly at me his change in mood sickened me “I’ll let you get some sleep goodnight Nicole” he said sweetly and walked away. I curled back up and drifted to sleep I was running through the woods when a large bear emerged from the trees, I backed up righ into another dog…It was Kodi! “C’mon!” he said and we took off running we came to a hill the northern lights played above us “Nicole…” he whispered and kissed me! I shot up out of my sleep everyone was still sleeping, I rose to my paws and went outside to get some air. While I was out I bumped into a black and white malamute “oh excuse me, I’m sorry” I said He stared at me with hungry eyes “Nicole!” he exclaimed my eyes went wide “Steele!” I exclaimed. He lunged for me during our fight he managed to pin me down he moved closer his sharp fangs inches away from my throat… “Steele!” A familiar voice exclaimed “Kodi!” I gasped shocked. Kodi lunged at Steele I watched helpless as they fought. When Steele took off Kodi ran over to me “Are you alright?” he asked “fine” I replied “I need to tell you something” he said. I didn’t want to hear this, “I gotta go” I said turning to leave “please?” he whispered I sighed and nodded. He led me to the hill I saw in my dream He turned to face me “Nicole… I love you” he whispered I could feel the tears in my eyes “I-I love you to Kodi” I sobbed and buried my face in his and let myself cry a few more minuets be fore looking at him. He leaned closer and we kiss
