the sun rose over the mountain tops. making the packs home land shimmer with the golden light of a new day. they were just coming out of there den, sleep still fresh in their eyes. yawns escape and the leader of the pack, Altii, orders the pack to find food for the long winter ahead. the pack nods and trots away and leave the alpha sitting on a bolder in the front of the den.

 

Altii spreads himself against the rock and closes his eyes. but he stays alert, ears perked and ready for anything. but suddenly he rises to the sound of a yelp. its coming from Mist. he bolts to her, but when he gets there all is to be seen is...nothing. nothing has been left. only footprints in the snow that end at a large tree. there is no sent nor is there any trace of where they went.

 

Altii howls and the rest of the pack comes running. they all circle him. then Altii announces, 'Mist has been kidnapped. we need to rescue her. Rocky, and i shall look. but were going to need more help than that, were going to need the best tracer in Nome. Axel.'

 

'but alpha, Axel is a dog.' a pack member said

 

'that's OK. now, Rocky call Balto.'

 

'OK.' Rocky replied as he let out a great howl. birds were sent flying from there trees and the red, yellow and orange leaves of autumn were sent in all directions. with in a few minutes Balto was there, standing in front of the alpha.

 

Balto then said, 'hello.'

 

'hello Balto, we need your help. you know that dog named Axel?' Altii said standing proudly

 

'of course, he's my best friend.'

 

'good. we need you to bring him to us. we need his help finding Mist. she was kidnapped.'

 

'OK I'll be right back.'

 

'thank you Balto.'

 

'no problem.'

 

and with that Balto dashed away. Altii stood, staring out to the horizon. then Rocky asked, 'where do you want us to start our search alpha?'

 

Altii turned around and looked at his pack. he walked in the middle of them, splitting them into two. then he walked down the side, splitting them into four groups. then he pointed to a group and said, 'search in the north.' the group nodded and scurried away. then he pointed to the next group, 'south.' that group then dashed away. pointing to another group he said, 'east.' then the group bolted through the thick woods. the alpha then pointed at the last group and said, 'you know where you must go next right, or do i have to tell you?'

 

'we know where to go.'

 

'good, now off you go.'

 

the group then ran into the forest, sending dust flying from there paws. now all that was left was Rocky and Altii. Altii stood staring at the sky when Balto burst in with Axel not far behind. then Balto said, 'heres Axel.'

 

'very good. Axel can you help us find a member of our pack?'

 

'sure, I'd be happy to.'

 

'wonderful, lets go.'

 

Rocky, Altii, and Axel then bolted off, up the mountain they went. sun rose, sun set, over and over again. it must have been at least three days before they reached the peak. but when they did they saw one little tree dangling over the mountain and a small cave. then Axel started sniffing the ground. just like he was trained to do. he bolted into the cave with Altii and Rocky right behind him. Axel then came to a fork in the road. Altii said, 'witch way?'

 

'um...this way!' Axel responded as he ran through the path on the right. down the path they went. 'she's down this path.' Axel said before, 'ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!' they fell down into an under ground cavern.

 

'where are we?' Altii asked

 

'some kind of under ground cave.' Rocky replied

 

'wait. you hear that?' Altii asked

 

'please don't hurt me!' a voice from afar cryed

 

'yeah, its coming from over there.' Axel said

 

'lets go.'

 

the ran to where the cry was coming from. and there she was, Mist. in the middle of a gang of wolves. the wolves snarled at her and said, 'truly sorry ma'am, but we haven't done anything fun in a while...so all were going to do is beat you up to a crisp and then feed you to the bears, mearly for entertainment.'

 

Mist began to cry. tears rolled off her fur and landed on the rock ground. then when Mist thought all hope was lost, Altii, Rocky, and Axel jumped in front of the wolves. Altii then said, 'leave her alone!'

 

'and why should we?' a wolf said

 

'because if you don't leave in five seconds your going to be the one who gets beat to a crisp and then fed to the bears.'

 

'whatever.'

 

'one'

 

'not listening!'

 

'two.'

 

'still not hearing you.'

 

'three.'

 

'blah, blah, blah.'

 

'four.'

 

'you can't hurt us.'

 

'oh really...five.' and one the last count Altii, Rocky, and Axel lunged at the gang. Altii bit into the gang leaders neck and drew blood. the wolf then scratched his face. Altii yelped but did not give up. he jumped up onto a bolder and whammed himself on the wolf. he heard a snap and knew the wolf hasn't going to fight anymore. Rocky and Axel saw what Altii did and did the same thing to the other wolves. and with that a mighty roar of SNAPS echoed throughout the cavern.

 

Axel then said, 'be right back.' and with that he ran to the bears den. he jumped in front of the bear and said, 'hey ya dumb bear! come an' get me!'

 

the bear rose to its hind legs and let out a mighty roar. the bear then started chasing Axel out of the cave and into the area where Altii and Rocky were. the bear then saw he wounded wolves as an easy meal and ran to them. the bear slashed into their necks and ripped them to shreds. but when the bear finished the wolves he was still hungry. he ran to Mist. the bear pushed her into a wall and lunged but Mist dodged him and ran behind Altii. then the leader of the gang slowly stood up and ran over to Mist. he bit her neck and sent her flying to the ground. she was covered in blood and hurt real bad. Altii snarled at the gang's leader and grabbed his leg and would not let go. the gang leader yelped and whinnied. he scratched and pulled but he couldn't get Altii to release his grip on him. finally the wolf fell limp. Altii then ran over to Mist and helped her up, he said, 'are you OK Mist?'

 

'yes, thank you. '

 

then the bear roared and snarled. Altii said, 'one second.'

 

Altii attacked the bear. he snarled and bit his stomach. the bear bled and fell limp too. the other wolves in the gang saw what Altii did and ran away as fast as they could. Altii smirked a half smile and then went over to Rocky and Axel to see if they were OK. Axel only got a small wound because he wasn't in the fight as much. and Rocky sprained his paw. Altii had scratch wounds on the left side of his face and on his hip. Mist just had a bruse. they considered themselves lucky, it could've been worse.

 

then they walked back to the pack and the healer helped them get better. they soon were back to themselves again, good as new.

 

Altii found out that Mist was straying from the packs land, into land that couldn't be used. it was filled with holes and mud and dangerous animals of all kinds. she was exploring and fell into a dich. she cryed for help but no one came. she almost gave up hope when the wolf gang came and helped her out. she thought they were good but the turned out to be horrid and her worse nightmare. and from that day on, Mist never strayed to far from the pack, or Altii...
