January 30, 1929: Nome has reinforcements who arrived yesterday. They have set camp on the far side of the mountain that over looks Nome, Mt. Eagle, and about 3/4 of the way up the mountain is an H.Q and at the same time a look out to watch and be ready for their worst enemy, The Deathlock Family, run by one of the most feared and evil canines in the world, Carlos Hector Deathlock, or more commonly known as, Father Deathlock 12th. Meanwhile, for the past couple nights, both Kodi and Dusty have had dream filled night, good dreams or freighting nightmares.... about each other.

Chapter 17: Sweet Emotion

Kodi and his team, including Mr. Simpson have gone to bed. With Dusty almost recovered from her deadly attack, she still sleeps in the basket she slept on the night of her attack. Something different has been happening however, and is almost noticeable, Kodi each night has slept closer and closer to Dusty's basket, tonight he is about a meter away from Dusty's basket. Last night it was 3 meters with Totin in between. This is the 1st night Kodi and Dusty aren't separated. Kodi yet again has another dream about Dusty...

Kodi was walking on the beaches of Nome at sunset, it was Dusty's favorite time of day. Nome is peaceful; no Enforcers; no New York dogs such as Medic and Sarge; no worries of the Deathlock invaders; just as Nome was a year ago at the time of the Bush Plane. Kodi stopped to admire the great view of the sun at the horizon. Kodi heard a voice calling his name behind him that gave him goose bumps by the sound of it. Kodi turned around and his heart began to race, it was Dusty. Who is fully recovered from Bravo 22 Delta's attack to her, no bandages, no cuts or bruises, and with no limping! She is coming up to him.

"Kodi... Kodi, wake up, kid" said a very intense New York voice, more intense than Medic's

Kodi looked up and saw a Black Lab/ Chocolate Lab mix looking down at him. It had a gold chain collar, similar to Medic's, but much more lose and had a shinny, gold New York Yankees medallion hanging from it.

"Beniamitto? Is that you?" Kodi asked knowing he also has a twin brother.

"WHAT!? Yo... It's Big B, kid.... Bardiana... can't you see the bling, Lil' B's too dorky!!!" yelled Bardiana or how he likes it, Big B.

"W-What? What the Hell is a bling? What are you doing here?" Kodi asked still half a sleep.

"Never mind, kid. Sarge told me to get you, Jerry is setting traps in different parts of the woods, Sarge is helping and they need you to know good spots to set them....... I think."

"Setting traps?"

"Yeah, Jerry's do' in everything, traps, trenches, you name the defense, and Jerry's building it" Big B announced.

"Ok... I'm coming I guess... where's Medic and the other guys?" Kodi asked as he got to all 4s.

Just as Kodi stepped outside with Bardiana, he already noticed the difference of the town with the Enforcers protecting it. First off there are twice the amount of dogs, and the unfamiliar ones are twice the size, and most look like they've seen some real action. Kodi is also hearing much more New York accents all around him also.

"Kid...? Kid!? Com' on, Jerry needs ya!" Big B yelled who noticed Kodi stopped and stared at Dusty.

"Huh... right, right..." Kodi said snapping out of it.

Big B looked at where Dusty was across the street. "Oh..... Now I see what's going on here..." Big B said mockingly.

"It's nothing..... I was looking at the Butcher's, I'm… I'm hungry" Kodi said trying to convince Big B.

"Kodi, my man... When it comes to girls, I'm your man" Big B announced.

"Bardiana, I don't need............"

Just then a male scream came from an alley right in front of them.

"MURDERER!!!!! THERE'S A MURDERER ON THE LOOSE!!!!!" he yelled running as fast as he could out of the alley.

Chapter 18: The Marked Murder

Some dogs, mostly Enforcers (or Enforcer allies) went to check it out, including Big B and Kodi.

When they went in, there was a trash can with the lid open, and flies, or other bugs flying all around it.

A Celtic (an Enforcer ally) pushed the can down and out came a bunch of trash...... and a dead and bloody canine body.

Some of dogs jumped back a little, even Kodi.

"Where's Medic and Sarge, they'll know what to do!" yelled kaltag in the back row.

"Were just as good!" yelled a New York accent Enforcer member.

The very same Celtic member moved closer to the dead body lying there. "He was beaten to death" he said with a small Irish accent "Someone beat him to death, but who?"

"Is he one of us?" asked Big B.

"Guys look!" yelled Nikki digging though the trash next to the dead body. "A chain collar with a green, white and orange striped tag looks like a flag. It says Jack Beckette... 2nd Classmen. What does that mean?"

"It means he's one of us... a Green Tie... someone go get Jerry, we still have spies among us" ordered Big B.

The Celtic with the Irish accent left the crowd and ran to Jeremiah who is out in the woods with Paulie leading the construction of the traps set for the Deathlock's arrival up at the cave in Mt. Eagle trying to make plans.

"Yo... look at this, this kid got marked" said another Enforcer noticing a mark that was made by the cuts of the body on the body's chest. It was an up-side-down triangle with a right-side-up V inside the up-side-down shape.

(Like I said in part one, I suck at descriptions)

The Enforcer took a good look at the bloody symbol wondering what it could mean. “I think it's something religious, like a Cult or something." he said.

"Nah... This is like something Zorro would do" said someone in the crowd.

"Yeah, if only Zorro was a dog, and this was Mexico." said Big B.

Just then Balto came into the crowd to see all the commotion was about. He finally made it to the front and saw the bloody, dead body.

"K-Kodi... who, what happened?" Balto asked.

"We don't know, someone found him like this, all we know is that they left a mark on his chest.... we think it's a symbol to a religious Cult" Kodi announced to his father.

"Let me take a look." Balto announced

Balto leaned forward and took a look at bloody symbol, and strongly it seemed familiar to him, too familiar.

"Dad... Dad, what is it...?" Kodi asked knowing something is wrong.

Balto then began to remember his past... way past, back to his puppy days. Flash memories filled his head, seeing images of his far away past for split seconds. He is remembering evil laughter, being in the presence of a white, bleeding wolf figure with the black wolf figure holding him with it's mouth, remembering black fur, blood red eyes, hanging off the edge of a cliff with a large river far below, with a black figure holding him off ready to let go.

Balto finally remembers the words 'Good bye, Son of Aniu...". Then memories turn to nothing.

Dad...?" Kodi asked again, a little more worried.

"He's back..." Balto said just above a whisper.

"Dad? Who's back?"

Balto lifted his head slowly and turns slowly to his son... "... Him..."

"Who-" Kodi tried to ask but then Balto made a break for it back to his home on the Old Trawler.

Kodi tried to run after him, but was stopped by Big B. "Kodi, Jeremiah needs you, it'll take a while to set these traps up, and we need it done before the Deathlocks arrive"

"But Bardiana... He's my father..."

"I know, but was ever he's running to, he may want to be alone... even though that was an awkward moment"

"Yeah... He's probably gone to my mother's."

Chapter 19: The Forgotten Past

"That's right son of Aniu... run... run away from your past...... my plan is already working" he
