He was raceing his brother Balto when he froze in his tracks. he stared at her. Balto waved his paw in front of Thunder's face put her wouldn't stop staring. his tail wagged and her started to walk to her. Balto was confused and he said, "What are you doing Thunder???"

Thunder wouldn't stop staring though he just ignored Balto. they ran around the back alleys so Thunder wouldn't embarress himself in front of the wolf. they bolted through a gap in the fence and headed to Balto's beached boat. but right in front of Thunder, she stood. Thunder skid to a stop, their nose touched and Thunder studdered to her, "Oh, I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to run into you."

then she blinked from being starteled and when she opened her eyes they were gone. she walked away.

Balto said to his brother, "why didn't you say something to her?"

Thunder responded, "I-I don't know I guess I was just nervious."

Balto smiled and said goodnight to Thunder.

Thunder walked saddly to his pack. his head was low to the ground so he didn't even notice the wolf was right next to him. she said, "Hello, I'm Shasha. Wahts your name?"

Thunder picked his head up and looked at her in confusion. he responded shyly, "My name is Thunder. Nice to meet you Shasha."

"Nice to meet you too," Shasha said, "Why are you walking in the woods? If you don't mind me asking."

"I live here with my family." Thunder repliyed

"You're a wolf?" she asked

"Yes." he said

"Oh, I live in Nome." she said

"Cool." he siad with a smile

Thunder didn't think she meant that she was a street dog. since the pack was out hunting till next afternoon, Thunder slept in a hollowed out oak tree, like he normaly did when the pack was out on a hunt.

they spent more and more time together and started to like each other. when Thunder was walking to his brothers house he saw Shasha eating left over meat outside someones door. he trotted over to her when he noticed somethind he haddent before. Shasha was wearing a collar, she never wore a collar! he went up to her and grabbed her collar. he started to pull but it wouldn't come off. then he said to her, "I'm sorry Shasha I can't get it off."

she laughed and smiled at him, "I don't want it off silly, I got a home."

"WHAT!?!" he paniced "Thats horrible!"

"I always wanted a home, dogs are supposet to have homes with humans."

"Wait, y-your a DOG???" he worryed

"Yeah, duh. I said I lived in Nome didn't I?"

"Yeah but I-oh never mide." he said

"So........., do ya' wanna go for a walk in the woods, for a-a date? Hmmm?" he said

"Sure, say about sun set?" Shasha said

"OK, see ya' later." Thunder said as he walked home.

Shasha stared at him untill she could no longer see him. she walked over to her friend, Jenna's house. they talked together about Thunder if he was good for Shasha or not. they had nothing bad to say about him.

when Thunder got to his pack they were all glaring at him with andry eyes. they were growling at him for betraying him. then one of the pack members shouted, "HOW DARE YOU, YOU BETRAYED US ALL!!!!!"

Thunder was confused and slowly backed away. he asked the pack, "Whant did I do wronge???"

"You're dateing that, that DOG!" another pack member said

they lunged at him and started to bite and claw him. he was bleeding bad. he knew he couldn'ty fight them all, maybe 1-2 but not all twenty of them. he started to run away from the pack the wolves chased after him untill the alpha said to his pack, "Let him go, he's not worth the effort."

the wolves walk back to their den leaving Thunder all alone. he walked away in horrible pain. he was skratched up and they left him to die. he knew that he really shouldn't be with her anymore. but he had too he loved her. and he hoped she loved him as much as he loved her. he ran over to Shasha's new owners house and walked in through the doggy door that she told him to use when he wanted to come in. he saw her sitting in the middle of the room and then she shouted, "Oh no! Whats wronge, are you OK?" she ran up to him and nuzzled him. they smiled at each other

"I'll be fine, so you still wanna go on our date?" he said

"Of course! Let's go." Shasha said

the walked together in the woods, thought raced through his mined: She's a dog and I'm a wolf how can life ever be normal for her I we became mates. No that shouldn't matter we love each other. But what if we have pups and they get made fun of because their half wolf and half dog. what should I do???

Thunder stares into Shasha's eyes and she looks into his, they smile at each other. they sit down and look up at the Northern Lights. Shasha then said to Thunder, "Wow, it's beautiful Thunder!" Thunder stares at Shasha and says, "Yeah, beautiful."

they nuzzle each other and lie down under the stars together, then they fall asleep, Thunder still unsure of himself now
