Jakita’s Forever Mate Jakita is a pure white coat wolf with ocean blue eyes. He is two years old (fourteen in dog years) Jakita is a wolf in search of a forever mate. His parents are Jenna and Balto. Jakita took after his grandmother, Anui’s, heritage. Jakita was the alpha of his pack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ He trotted to the river, he was panting from the run from the long hunt. They came back successful with the hunt. The extra food was buried next to the den for when they were hungry later. When he reached the river Jakita lapped up the water. He looked up and perked his ears. He howl to his pack as night was falling over the land. He told them to come to the den for the night. The pack all dashed to the den and went inside to go to sleep. But Jakita stayed awake, he had a job to do once he had become alpha. He had to guide his pack and make sure they were OK, that was his job, and he did it very well. He heard his dad, Balto; walk over to him with Jenna at his side. “Hi guys, whats up?” Jakita said “Nothing much, we just wanted to see if you’re OK.” Jenna said “OK, thanks. So, anything new happening over at Nome?” Jakita asked “A new dog moved in.” Balto said “Well, she said she was a wolf not a dog.” Jenna added “The sad thing is that she said her pack was killed by hunter’s traps, she was the only one who made it out.” Balto said “Aww, that’s so sad.” Jakita said “Where does she live anyways, I’ll introduce her to my pack to make her feel welcome.” Jakita said “She lives in the old oak tree on the outskirts of town.” Jenna said “Thanks see ya’ ‘round.” Jakita said as he bolted to the oak tree. Balto and Jenna smiled at each other and trotted back home. When Jakita reached the wolf’s home he sat down and howled. She woke up and walked outside to see what was going on. She had a beautiful rust color coat with white on her chest and her stomach, she had brown eyes. She looked to be the same age as Jakita. Jakita wagged his tail and said, “Hello, I heard you were new and I wanted to know if you wanted a tour of the woods in the morning.” “Sure, what time and where to I find you?” The wolf answered “I’ll meet you hear, at the crack of dawn. OK?” Jakita said “OK.” She said The she-wolf then walked into the hollowed out tree. Jakita dashed home with a smile on his face. When the sun arose Jakita told his pack that he’s giving a tour to a new wolf and he’s going to let her meet his pack. He said he would be back soon. He trotted over to the wolf’s house where he saw her waiting, wagging her tail. He walked over to her, “Ready?” “Yup.” She said “Oh, and my name’s Jakita.” He added “I’m Tala” She said “Nice name.” Jakita said “Thanks, yours is nice too.” Tala said “Thanks, OK let’s go.” Jakita said “OK.” Tala said They trotted through the woods, stopping once in a while for Jakita to point out different things. Then he brought Tala to his pack. The pack walked up to her and greeted her. They spent the whole day just talking after that. For many days they would just hand out with each other. They became close friends. Once when it became night it was too dark for Tala to find her way to her house, so she stayed overnight in the packs den. Jakita told Tala she could sleep anywhere she wanted in the den, or even outside if she wanted. But she chose to sleep next to Jakita. A few months went by when Jakita went up to Tala and he asked her, “Tala would you like to be my mate?” A smile spread across her face and she said, “Of course! I would love to be your mate.” They nuzzled each other and they trotted in the den to tell the pack the good news. Tala and Jakita are my characters you can’t use them unless you ask first. More adventures with Tala and Jakita to come. Please tell me if you like my story or not.
