An Exile, A Revenge, A Pair: Part One

Chapter 1:

Steele was left in the big room. He had just lost his fans, his whole life. He walked out the door and growled as he saw Balto and Jenna nuzzle. He then turned the other way and began walking to his home. He barked. He saw his owner open the door. He started to go in then suddenly BAM!. The door shut, hitting his nose. He growled. "That mutt made my owner abandon me!". He then saw Doc walk over to him.

Doc then said "Steele, Balto told me everything on what you did to him, you either have to apologize to Balto AND mean it, and leave him alone, treat him with respect, OR I have no choice but to exile you from Nome, and if you come back during that exile, you still have the other choice, if you still don't follow it, we might punish you, lock you up, and we might kill you".

Steele growled at this. Steele then said "I have to be respectful to that wolfdog!!??" Doc then said "He's the towns hero". Steele growled, "Never, ever, ever will I be respectful to that wolfdog!". He then said "I'll take the exile". He growled.

Doc then called the two dogs he had with him. "Take him to the forest, somewhere deep so that he can't come back". The two dogs nodded. They were big and strong, they were great danes. One of them picked Steele up. The dog held him by the scruff. Steele growled. He then shouted "I'll have my revenge, Wolfdog!". He tried to squirm free. But, it was no use, he muttered some words.

Chapter 2:

The dog who was carrying him then said "This is a good place to leave Steele, hmm?". He looked over to the other dog. The other dog then said "Yeah, it's deep in the forest". The dog who was carrying him then let Steele down. He then said "Let's go.. and make sure to cover our paws so he wouldn't follow". One of them used a tree branch to cover the paws tracks. They got to Nome.

Steele laid in the snow. He heard wolves' howls. He grew wide-eyed. He then saw some golden eyes shine through the darkness. He then ran around. He saw a big cave like thing. He sniffed it, nothing in there. It was abandoned.

Steele entered the den. It was a bit cramped. Steele managed to get into a position, not so comfortable though. He closed his eyes and lowered his ears. He began falling asleep, then a growl came from outside the den. Steele perked up his ears and looked towards the entrance. He then growled back, which made things worse.

Anzac was the wolf growling, he could smell dog. He started going into the den. He grabbed Steele by the neck and dragged him out. "What are you doing here dog!?". Steele whined "I was abandoned by my owner since I did something wrong.... just because of that no good wolfdog!". Anzac raised his eyebrow "Wolfdog? Was his name Balto?". Steele nodded "How'd you know?". Anzac then said "We're friends, why, what did he do?"

Steele explained the whole thing. "Well.... he's a good guy, if he rescued children" said Anzac.

Steele then said "You're missing the point!". He continued "He got the fame, he got the girl!! And what do I get!? Nothing!!".

Anzac then said "You're just jealous". He then growled at Steele "You don't belong here Steele! If I were you, I'd apologize". Anzac turned and walked off. Until he heard Steele say something.

Steele said "Can I stay in your pack for a while?". Anzac then said "My pack!? I don't have a pack, I'm just the hunter... you need to talk to the Alpha to do that". Anzac then rolled his eyes "Follow me".

Chapter 3

Anzac walked to his pack. He sniffed around. “We’re getting close” Anzac howled, as he got closer. He then saw his Alpha. “Alpha, I’d like you to meet Steele, would you like to hear his story?” The alpha looked at the dog, so called Steele. He nodded then said “Okay, dog, tell me your story”.

Steele started his long story. When he finished, the alpha said “I see nothing wrong with Balto, he’s the hero, you just have the feeling called jealousy, or envy”.

Steele lied “I do not!”. But he was really, you could hear it in the tone. The alpha growled “Liar!” The alpha stopped growling. “You may stay for the 2 nights, but you must leave after that and fend for yourself, or else..”

Steele then said “Or else?”. The alpha then got a stick and bit it in half. “That!” Steele gulped. “We’ll rest here for tonight” said the Alpha. He laid down and closed his eyes.

Steele laid down as well, out in the wilderness. Anzac was sleeping near a tree. He heard a noise. He woke up and walked near Nome. He looked and howled.

Balto was still getting patted by the people. He heard a howl and ran to the howl. He howled back.

Anzac howled again. Balto followed and saw a wolf. He growled and pinned the wolf down. Anzac pinned Balto and then said “Balto?” He got off him.

Balto then said “Anzac? Is it you?” He recognized him just a bit. He then got a flashback. Anzac nodded. Balto smiled and said “It’s been a long time since seeing you!”. Anzac smiled back. Anzac then whispered “Watch your back, since there’s a huge dog here and he wants revenge on you, his name is Steele”

Balto then said “Steele!?”. Anzac nodded, his ears wiggled a bit. Balto gasped “Can I ask you a favour”. Anzac then said “And what might that be?” Balto then said “Try helping him become good, and keep an eye on him”. Anzac grinned “ Sure!”. Anzac then said “See you later Balto!”. Balto replied with “See you later Anzac!”

Balto skittered off. He ran to Jenna and talked with her. He wondered if Steele would ever turn good. But he just shrugged, he must’ve been the happiest wolfdog. He got the town to like him and he got Jenna.

Chapter 4

The next morning….

Steele woke up. He was startled to see he was in the forest with wolves surrounding him. He then realized what happened and sighed. He then saw Anzac approaching him.

Anzac was a early riser. He approached Steele and tried to make him be better. “Steele, remember the story you said before, well…. If you were a more gentle dog than a proud one, you’d probably get what you want. But… now since you were too proud you lost everything. If you apologize, then probably everything would change. You’d probably get your fans and friends back. Maybe you’d find another girl”.

Steele then lowered his ears. It was actually true. He then said “I guess you’re right…” Steele then said “NO! You’re wrong! I am gonna get my revenge, no matter what you or any others say”. He ran off. “You’ll be missing your breakfast” said Anzac. He threw a dead rabbit at Steele.

Steele saw the rabbit and ate it. He then said “Tastes good”. He continued roaming. Anzac then said “Come back, if you’re lost, try howling!”. Anzac looked back at the pack.

Anzac headed off to the elk hunting grounds. He saw the big bull elk. He licked his lips.  He then saw the bull elk was limping, it was walking slowly. He then knew this one was weak. He charged and before you could blink. His teeth were already in the elk’s throat. The elk jumped around. Then it collapsed to the ground. It wasn’t breathing.

Anzac licked his snout. The blood stained it a bit. He then began dragging it back. He then saw his pack was waiting for the food. He then waited for the Alpha to eat first. When it was his turn, he began eating what was left. He then heard a dog’s howl. He howled back since he knew who it was. He continued eating then Steele showed up. Steele ate some as well but just a bit since he was a dog and he was in a wolf pack.

Balto woke up in his boat. He headed to Jenna and smiled. After cuddling for a while. He was off to the forest. He then saw a black form appear, Steele!

Steele growled, his fur bristled up, ready for a fight. Balto did not want to fight but if he had to fight he’d do it. Steele then said “Give up wolfdog, you’re no match for me!” Balto shook his head, then saw a grey form appear and go to his side, Anzac! Anzac then said “I’ve got your back”. They both growled, but Steele stayed there. What will happen??
