Actually I should prolly rephrase myself..xD When I drew this particular picture, i didn't really think about any specific meaning or explanation for it. And what has been mentioned so far (which I like xD) is highly probable. It's really up for the viewer to decide.

Brown - I suppose either is possible, or even something else (even if Angel said, in response, that there is none). But, with the lack of any description to better explain the title, it piqued my curiosity is all...

Maybe Aniu realizes that she and Balto were separated, and she's searched for him, only to find no trace. Not his paws in the snow, or even his scent in the air.

Or maybe she's seen her mate - Balto's father, perhaps - die in some sort of fight with wolves, or get killed by hunters who mistook a husky for a wolf and she could do nothing to save him.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but after seeing that tear... I just COULDN'T help myself!
