Nikon; It doesn't matter what it is. It's still improvement. That was
my point. I'm not saying she has to render to improve, I was just
showing her my improvement over time.

Trancy> Hope you don't mind this point out, but i don't think that
"critic" if it can be called like that is actually proper for this
person, since you linked two renders, and this person is bothering in
sending her own work, Definitely she shall improve, now i shall
provide a couple of my DRAWING improvement examples
Now you tell me if I improved or not over time. People find it much
more appealing when you're sending in your own work instead of being
spammed by linearts over and over again. Trust me. I can't say it more
than I already have. If you want recognition, put some effort into it.
It's not that hard. Look at animal references and such. I've done my
last drawing(s) with a freaking mouse. It's the only thing I use, and
I get a lot of favorites/comments. You can reference my drawings and
images if you want, but just PLEASE put some effort into things is
all. I know you can do it.
My art hasn't improved that much either, no matter what I do, but I
like to at least keep it my own, or even when rendering I try to give
it my own style, if you keep using things made by other people that
won't help improvement. But maybe you should try taking those drawings
you like best and try to replicate it, but try to change what you
think can be done better, use reference pictures or real animals, etc.
Yes yes, that's what everyone says, but it never happens. My best
drawings happen with a pen in my planner when my teacher starts to
talk about boring stuff XD I drew an awesome Eglantine from The
Guardians Of Ga'Hoole!
Apparently, you haven't seen my artwork. Its only good when I draw
with a pencil, and even then it sucks. And if you say its a good
start, beginners luck.

best thing to learn, for MYSELF, is following cartoon anatomy, some people prefer real pictures, i personally learnt from Balto, and for anthros, old VHS human characters
