Balto’ s brother, Canek, trying to talk him into coming to the wilderness with him to live. Canek was the stronger of the two, and both of them were harassed by the town dogs daily, especially by Steel and his father. Canek tries to convince Balto to stay, but Balto wants to stay close to Jenna, who he has developed feelings for.
