"Daddy, does mommy hate me?" the young pup asked as she looked up at her towering father. Nikki looked down at his only child and inwardly heaved a sigh as he thought upon the situation that life had gave him "You're mother doesn't hate you kiddo... she's just ... free spirited." he tried to explain, though found hard to as he didn't want to basically say that the pups mother wanted nothing to do with her. He couldn't do it. He couldn't deal with the sadness that would more then likely envelope the pups eyes as the fact that her mother had no care or love for her would come to fruition. The pup looked up at him, slight tears in her eyes," Why can't I stay with you? You spend more time with me then she does..." they had been over this plenty of times and both knew why she couldn't stay. He had a completely different master who knew nothing of the pup, and for that matter his team mates didn't know about her either. What would the boys think if he came home with a pup, more then less a female pup. He dared not think about letting his daughter live with the ruffian males that he did. That and, he couldn't give her the time that she needed. " You know the reason to that Mari, I has a job to do. And you're better off with your mother, not an old grouch like me." He put a paw on her back, bringing her closer to him as he nuzzled her in a gentle way. " We ain't the talking kind... but you know I love ya Mari." Mari nodded her head slowly as she nuzzled into his chest," I love you too daddy."

Ah, haven't drawn these two in AGES. And I finally gave her name! For those who don't know, Mari is the love child of Nikki and Sylvie that i made up ages ago. Poor kid.
