I used to abhor making backgrounds. This time I made the BG first and added the characters in.

I brought a scene from The Soul's Trail to life.

Why are Aleu and Niju washing up on a riverbank in the middle of a forest fire? I guess you'd have to read the story. I'm not going into all of that. ;p

A beautiful work indeed. Aleu seems happy actually. Not in the mood to read any story at the moment but will try to check it later once I have my mood back. It seems like an interesting one.
