I usually don't do this but can I be frigging proud of myself for a moment here?
Been looking at my most recent drawings and compared them with those I used to be proud of ages ago.
I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil (Man that sentence sounds so clichè) but I never really considered myself good at it. I remember how my mother used to scribble a lot of random stuff I whenever I saw those scribblings I thought "Man, one day I want to be able to draw just as well as her."
While growing up I mostly drew out of boredom, I never put much thought into it and excepts for that 2006 drawing I pretty much kept none of those pieces.
I started to get a little more serious about my "art" when I joined a website called Balto Source" Once again, I saw amazing artwork by other people and wanted to become as good as them. As you can see, I wasn't any good back then. Better than in 2006 but still.
Drawing was and still is a pretty much secret hobby of mine since out of my real life barely anyone appreciates such "pointless and stupid" things. But online people have been encouraging me to keep on drawing. Some even provided some useful tips, which I am really grateful for.
Over time I noticed some slight improvement in my drawings. The more I drew the more confident I became.I tried new things. Shading, backgrounds, different poses. It all took a long time for me to get comfortable with.
I never saw myself as an artists and I still don't. I am simply someone who happens to draw because I've got nothing better to do. It's a good way to kill off boredom. I know there is still a lot, a frigging lot of room for improvement but I am quite content with where my drawing skills are going.
Guess I'm gonna stop boring you guys.
