I remember on paint I didn't know about the color picker in the
beginning, it was a pain Dx I always admire any well done art using paint! |

Moss: And that's fine, whatever floats your boat. (; But in this case I only used one color for the outline, and that was a dark blue color that I picked using the color picker tool from the screenshot. The lineart alone almost looked black, but once I added the color it looked much better. |

Mighty- Good idea! Though in my personal opinion I don't like to use a
color outline, it all depends on the artist. I have spoken to a few
and they said if you aren't use of using a color outline and you try
to switch to it, it can be tricky at first. But I must say, this is really good for paint! I could never do anything with paint, especially since I don't have a tablet. |

Thanks! Yeah, Paint is not my art tool of choice, but I felt like using it just for the heck of it. But look at it this way, paint is like working on a painting canvas. No traditional medium is going to have layers to work with. So in a way you can view paint as a training/practice tool if you would like to. So to you kiddies out there who complain that you only have paint, let this be an example to you. You don't need Photoshop, Gimp, etc, to make great looking work. Sure, Paint lacks, but if you take your time, and depending on your artistic level, and whether or not you have a tablet, you can produce some decent looking stuff. Just as a tip, draw on a larger canvas size, and try to make the drawing fairly large. Also avoid drawing in black. Drawing the lineart in a Disney style (using color instead of black) will blend the drawing together better. Save the drawing as a PNG file to avoid compressing the image, that will make it look BAD if you were to use a JPG file. That way, when you upload the drawing to the site, the larger size of the drawing will be downsized and blurred a bit. That takes the hardness away from the pixelated lines. And the plus about that, not only does it look good, but this also makes it harder for art thieves to take the drawing and color over it. |
