Balto

Balto

Yay, more Balto fanart *dances*

This took me around three to five hours to finish o_0 and was done with a wireless mouse (the absolute hardest thing in the WORLD to try and draw with!)

My sketches started out on Pixlr then I copied both of them in Gimp, traced over them, colored the lineart, did my effects, and viola~ Finished Balto fanart.

I'm so proud of myself ^^

Oh, yeah, I'd like some critique on this piece of art, if you guys don't mind :3

I'm horrible at critique, but I'll try my best here. Most of this probably won't even be critique, more of just my own opinion^^;. Okay, here we go. With the eye I see you separated the two colors (brown and yellow) with a black, or a darker colored line. I think it makes the eye look "choppy" personally I like a smoother look, where colors are not separated, but run against each other(does that even make sense?) I also would have chose a lighter yellow color for the eye. Now onward to the nose, I think you should make it a little shorter. To me it looks like it's sticking out to far. Other than that it looks fine. Also, where is your light source? Like for the shading? To me it looks like you have more than one light source, if you know where your light source is it would make shading easier. Now last! after you're done with the drawing take a smaller brush and put lines of white where you think light would reflect off of. [Ex] the shin on the eyes, nose and tongue. It would give the drawing more of a "feel" and a more finished look. Any wet surface usually has that light shiny thing. :b

But I do absolutely love this drawing, it looks like Balto is walking through a dream! Also, what do you usually use to draw with? And a mouse isn't that hard to draw with! XD try using a laptop touch mouse! That is actually what I used for most of my earlier drawings, I think I started using a mouse around October of last year. I still use the touch arrow on my laptop for the sketches of my
drawings.

Anyway, I hope this helps!

Not the one who would give critique because me myself don't draw xD. With a mouse? That's pretty neat. If you aren't used to it, it will be hard indeed. So to me, it's a good artwork, Kemiro. Although, is Balto being sleepy there? xP
