What is a fursona?  I keep seeing people with fursonas and it's been bugging me as to what that means.

Exactly what wsb said:

A fursona (by definition) is the 'persona' of an anthro (or "furry") artist -- the artist personified as a character in their art.

Usually fursonas are animals such as canines, felines, or even equines.
From what I hear, the fursona of an artist should be the character that the person draws most.
It can be identical to the artist (similar markings, personality, style, etc.) or the complete opposite.

The name is simply stemmed from the fact that many furries, furry artists, Therians, or those in other parallel or related groups used animal or anthropomorphic personas. These personas were definitive enough to be given their own generalized name: fursonas.

I hope this answers your question. If not, let me know and I'll try to clarify.

To my knowledge, a fursona is a character (usually created by the member him or herself) that is most like their author in personality and sometimes markings or features. In other words, a fursona is the wolf, dog, or wolfdog version of it's creator. Hope this helps! -wsb
