Tala

I know Catwhohas14tails has the red faced pup as Dakota. But when I first created my user here on Balto Source, I had a red faced pup named Dakota, but I didn't get it from Catwhohas14tails. I want to write a fan fic with him in it, but I think people might start accusing me of "stealing" the name from Catwhohas14tails.
Am I going to have to change his name, 'cause if I do, I don't think it's really fair.

If a name is pretty common (like Dakota is), people shouldn't accuse of theft...In any case, to create the character, just add your name next to it, like Dakota (Tala) It's a complex matter. I don't know if we could write a general rule about this, yet I would very like to.

Besides, Cat's version of the red-faced pup she calls Kiona. Dakota is her version of the red bar-nosed pup.

You don't even have to acknowledge it. Dakota is a popular name so the likelihood of being accused of theft is low. Unfortunately, it's one of the sucky parts of BS; people will jump on you and accuse you of theft for the most retarded reasons with little or no proof. Plus, not everyone is stealing from Cat. (I've been accused of stealing from Cat twice. And both times it wasn't Cat accusing me.)
