Size of signatures

I want to try and make my own signature, but I don't know the dimensions. I don't want to spend ages trying to make a signature and then have it tell me it is too big. I have looked for questions like this but haven't found any, and I haven't found the answer anywhere so it would be great if someone could tell me.

A way to do it is just make your signature and then resize it with http://www.resizepic.com/ . It's simple.
I think the max deminsions are 300X150. (300 pixels wide and 150 tall)
