Why is aleu the only brown pup in the group?  Why are all the rest red?

I suppose it's basic genetics, just like Mightybalto1925 stated, but it seems that it's mainly to make Aleu stand out and appear more wild and wolfish than her siblings.
Think about it - Wouldn't Aleu's "wolf quest" be much different if she were any other color than gray-brown? She probably would've been easily passed as a dog than a wolf just by her looks (with a little extra scruffiness like her dad), but the story just wouldn't flow as easy as it eventually did in WQ.
But still, Aleu is just the victim of the recessive gene pool - Balto's 50% wolf shines through her more than her siblings (mainly through her fur colors, design, appearance and actions, like her howling), and yet she still maintains some characteristics of her purebred mother (large curled tail is the biggest). That's what mutts usually are made of.

cuz, they wanted to do that, to make aleu like her father so she was different and it is just sometime genitics, but i always thought that she should be redish brownish, they screw up on that movie too. but Balto was brown and light brown,but i think they just screw up, it is DNA. jenna 100 percent husky and Balto 5o percent husky and 50 percent wolf, that wanted her to be different from her sibling but i think the pups should all been redish brownish color. hope that helped.

I hope you understand genetics. Anyway, Jenna's is DNA is 100% Siberian husky; Balto on the other hand is 50% wolf. Balto inharedted the gene for brown fur from his mother.(Even though aniu was white, the gene for brown fur is there.) Therefor, Balto passed the gene for brown fur to his offspring. So there will be a mixture of red and brown. Sorry if this is confuseing. I wasn't good with life scinece.
