I've been wondering this for some time. On the forums, who and what are the Bots? I don't get how that whole system works so thats why I'm asking this question.

The word "Bots" is short for "Internet Robots", they are owned and coded by a search engine (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo Exc.), and when they explore a site; they search for keywords, everytime one of thoes keywords pop up on the Search engine, the server will know this (Or whatever site the bots visited) has that as one of there keywords.

No, they don't run the forums. The bots are scanning topics and such to make the site come up in a search.

I think they're the servers that run the forums.
