When I checked the amount of members on the site, just out of curiosity, I saw a faw names with [bot] at the end. I see at least one every time I see it. I know theese couldn't be real people. They were named after companies, such as "Google", "Ask", or "MSN". One time, I even spotted a [spider]! Could someone explain this to me? This has been on my mind for a long time.

No, there not people. A "bot" is nothing more than a pogramed
computer. The bots you see here are harmless.. (most bots spam sites
and boards.) These bots here are collecting documents to make the site come up in a search. All in all, these bots are doing good for this website. If i'm correct, webmasters can give permission to allow the bots on their site or deny the bot.
