No. Incorrect, meteora.

Togo and Balto ran on separate
teams, and at separate locations. Both were lead dogs on their team
from start to finish of their portions of the run.

Emmajudy, NO dog deserves more or less fame than any other. All
150 dogs which actually were in the run deserve equal fame and
attention. They each did their part.

The actual run was a relay consisting of many teams. when it was Togo and Balto's team's turn Togo lead for a while, then when Togo was hurt Balto took over(I think). Balto was leading when they approached the next point(point safety?) the lights were out so they just kept going. When they arrived in nome Balto was leading. Who deserved more fame is everyones own opinion.

Exactly. Togo got a lot of attention because he ran the most difficult leg of the relay. And Balto got a lot of attention because he ran the final leg into Nome. But they couldn't have done it without the help of their teammates. Not to mention all the dogs from the other teams.
