A "n00b", apparently, in the lingo of your generation, is a new member
who is incapable of acting as a productive and obedient member of the
community (which would include following the rules, not spamming, flaming or being a
troll, etc.).
The alternative to that is a "newbie", who
is a good and productive (and contributive)
new member.
As I understand it anyway...

Aye, but, what if there's someone new that joins, & hasn't ever
been on a site like this, but, understands the rules, ect & is a great member everywhere they go? Though they don't understand the site's navifation to well, or can't seem to find anyone that will or is willing to teach them & show them around, & is instead being called a N00B just because they don't understand. Anyhow, I just found this site, while searching for wolf photos. It looked interesting so I thought I'd join. |

take a rocket scientist to comprehend the rules...and they were
written for the younger crowd to easily comprehend.
Simply having difficulty navigating the site doesn't qualify
someone as a "n00b", and I don't think any rational, patient person
would see it that way. A "n00b" breaks rules...pure and simple. But
even a knucklehead should understand that SMS, spam and flaming are
BAD etiquette on the internet! Anywhere except unmoderated places,
and this is not one of those!
