How come people aren't allowed to SM? I see people say stuff like lol- does it count?

It's not so much whether this abbreviation or that one is allowed or
not, but the amount of SMS in what you write. If your message is not
understandable by a normal person, then it can be reported as SMS to
the mods.

People don't SMS because it makes things harder to read for some. SMS also is against the rules. It also is not used because it sometimes gets annoying to some people for some reason. And l o l is SMS but people tend to use it alot because they are used to it more.

Some SMS is allowed like "" and "g2g" but most isn't allowed, and that is because it can be very hard to read and confussing to people.

yes, you can use simply SMS but others are very difficult to understan...for example me, I'm italian and I don't know well all the SMS so for me is a bit hard understand them
