Why do people completely ignore what I say in the shoutbox??
steet
Have you only tried STARTING talking about a precise subject? If you
only say "hi" or "hello", of course, no one will be wanting to talk
with you. But if you say : "Did anyone else saw the last indiana jones
film?" then you'll be sure some people will answer.

I get your point now, JC. And I agree. People shouldn't be going there
just to poke around and break the conversation with "Hi." |

I wasn't being rude, Ambersilver...I was being blunt. There's a difference. There are too many n00bs who come onto the shoutbox, repeating "hi" over and over and over and then, when they are seemingly "ignored", they throw out some melodramatic sob story and act like no one loves them. It's ridiculous, and we all know it's ridiculous. People engage in many small chats on there, and sometimes they don't want to break that chat just to acknowledge someone who keeps poking the room over and over and over. It's irritating. There are ways to join into a chat. If you're acknowledged, that's great. If not, you learn to deal. That's how it works. I don't even go onto the shoutbox much at all anymore. Because of n00bs, and because of the often vacuous, inane, and uninteresting chats which occur there. But let's not soft-pedal it here. You know very well what is going on here... |

Don't pour gasoline on a fire, dagger. Be a part of the solution...not part of the problem. |

Perhaps because of the kind of attitude which leads to posting a question like this. There is no logic in such a question being posted, and I am sure it will be deleted or closed quickly. If you behave in a sociable way, and demonstrate PATIENCE, people WILL talk to you. They don't get into the shoutbox merely to wait for you to come in and grab their attention. |

People don't ignore you, Lyndzey, at least not intentionally. Often the case is that they are wrapped up in their own conversations; or completely bored out of their minds. Others are wary of new members, and take time to warm up to you (as there has been an influx of unsavory characters on the site). It happens to everyone, really, so I wouldn't worry so much about it. |

Sometimes it takes time to get noticed on the site, especially if you're new. I suggest you be patient, and if people won't talk to you right away, talk to them! Also, commenting on people's stories and art is a good way to open the lines of communication. But don't get impatient. Instant popularity doesn't happen here. |
