I`ve been wondering for awhile now, is the timber wolf and the grey wolf the same wolf breed? if not, then what are the differences in the two?

It's the same species. The gray wolf is the overall species
classification of canis lupus. The timber wolf is one of what
are referred to as "subspecies" of the gray wolf. However, most other
wolves fall under that classification as well...including the arctic
wolf and the Mexican wolf. The only related species of true wolf
which does not is the red wolf (canis rufus).

Natticat, it's really nice to participate. And I think it's
wonderful that you did. But parrotting what has already been said is discourteous. Don't repeat what has already been said...that's rude. Instead, please add something new. |

The timber wolf is a subspecies of the gray wolf. Easter timber
wolves are what you call the black version of the gray wolf, just like you call the white version Arctic wolves (Or tundra wolves, whichever you prefer) Hope that helps. |

JerseyCaptain-- Oh sorry. I actually didn't read the other comments, I
just posted what I knew. I probably should have read the others first.
Sorry again. |
