I believe daemons exist and I am in touch with my own
(this is
my belief so please be kind

You had quite a long run-on sentence, Ileu. ;]

A dæmon
(yes, the "A" and "E" are together like that) is a person's soul that
lives outside the person's body. The dæmon is usually the opposite
gender of the human. Dæmons only exists in one world (there are
different worlds in the book), and according to His Dark Materials
(the trilogy name) people can't see their dæmons in other worlds.

When the person is a child, their dæmon can change into any
animal it wishes; a lot of it depends on the human's mood. But when
that child gets older (12 to 14-ish, I think) their dæmon settles into
one form. This form is pretty much unknown until it happens and the
animal the dæmon settles into is the animal most like the human.

Remember, this is fiction and it doesn't exist...but it's
cool, because the human can also talk to his dæmon and hold it, while
it's considered almost "evil" when someone else even touches the
dæmon.

Alot of people have seen the movie "The Golden Compass", or read the
book, and in the movie and book, these animals are people's souls, and
they can change shape (animal) and they help guide you, so they are
literally your soul, but the movie and book is make-believe, but you
DO have totems and spirit guides, which ARE like your "deamons" (I
prefer to call them elementals), so all together, they are your spirit
animal.
