As Kayla said, turn it off. XD!

And to make it
smaller you can either resize it, as Kay mentioned, or you
can make it smaller in the editor for your profile.

When you upload a pic using the editor, and you
click select, their should be tiny grey squares around the
pic. And with that, just simply go to the edges, and push it
down, to the side, of use the corner to make it smaller.

It generally distorts the pic, but you can fix
that by simply clicking on the pic, and changing the size of
it again. Thats how I do it.

Uh, just resize it in a photo-editing program or Imageshack.. And next time, turn off your Caps Lock.
