Ok, I hope this won't be classed as a pointless question because it has been bugging me for some time now... how do people make their avatars transparent? I've tried saving it in tif format but the forum won't accept it.. help?

To get a transparent background, you'll need an art program.
I use PhotoFiltre
( http://www.photobucket.com).

Yes, use GIF or even better, PNG (since transparent PNGs are now correctly displayed with the latest version of Internet explorer, and all the other browsers) |

To keep the transparent background, save it as a .GIF image. And no problem. ^^ |

Thanks, Tibb_wolf! I'll try that with Paint Shop Pro X which, other than Paint, is my only art programme. EDIT: What should I save it as? Photobucket won't accept PSP files.. |

Well first you need a picture selected to 50 50 pixels. Then you get the link. Go to edit your profile. You will see a tab saying avatar. Type the link in there. Last click on update your profile. Then your set to go. If there is trouble contact a mod or steet. At the staff page. |
