Balto's Pup

did the real musher acually get knocked out in the history?

If he did were did they get the info on what happened on the journey?

I don't recall any of the real mushers getting knocked on the head, but there were some who's sleds tipped over, and some who's lead dogs froze so they themselves had to take their place. They are the unsung heros that the newspapers and books never really pointed out. Too bad that on Balto they had only one Musher to represent all the others in the real story. Maybe that's why the movie makers had him get hurt. To show what maybe some of the other real mushers went through.
