Is Steel still alive? If he is would he go after Balto?

Well, did he die at the end of Balto 1? Of course not. So he has all reasons to still be alive. The sequels don't give us any information about this. Although, Steele was close from making a come back in Balto 3, even if it didn't happen. Read the Phil Weinstein interview here :

They seemed to have made it so that you had to use your imagination to figure out what happened to him. Cause some people would want him to live, and others would've wanted him to die. It's your opinion of what happened to him.

It is also possible that Steele's Master wouldn't want a Dog He couldn't trust, But untill Steele's Body shows up We have no reason to assume that He isn't alive.
