BlackWolfFirst off: This is not meant to be a rant against homosexuality nor some kind of yaoi idea. In fact Nava is on my favorite characters from the trilogy and yet we know not much about him. But when I recently watched Wolf Quest again I kinda had the impression that there are some hints that Nava could be indeed gay. Yeah I know he doesn't behave like it and he seems to be very determinant to meet Aniu but there are a lot of homosexual people who are behaving like the total opposite and it seems like he wants to meet her more for spiritful reasons rather than sexual ones.
First off the thing with the wolfpack: It seems like all wolves there are mid aged or very old and yet it seems like they are too old to be Navas children (he even refers to them as Brothers) and in real Wolfpacks the leader is suppose to mate with a female and to chose one of his pups as the next leader. However in Balto II it seems like Nava has no child to take over, so Niju is arguing abut to become the next leader and that means something has happend to Nava and he couldn't get children.
Secondly he seems very protective and talkative about Balto, way more than Aleu. For example when he became one with the tree and back. He doesn't pay much attention to her and only talks to her when he needs to. I mean she was still very young so the older male would have some kind of "protective instinct" but Nava is like "Nah screw her, I'll take care of Balto and instruct him". Also he was interested from the beginning to have Balto as the new leader rather than Aleu (which would be a much better choice if you consinder that there are like 10 males and no females in the pack) I mean why didn't he thought about Aleu? She was also half wolf and Aniu never really tells Nava who she meant with her prophecy. Its very strange that Nava immediatly thinks that Balto would be the one and stick him. Even when it turns out that Aleu was supposed to be the leader he is all like "Yeah ok, she will be a fine leader, common Balto let's go".
And thirdly in the pack there is no female who seems to be close to Nava kinda like his "left hand" as it is in a real pack. I know the pack members are horribly portrayed (they all look like Balto clones) but it was obvious who was a close person for Nava and who was not and there were no females that seem to be close to him, does that mean he never really had any contact to a female wolf? After all this time in the pack, you would think that he would have some kind of female that stays loyal to him.
That's it with my opinion. I know Nava never really talks about himself in the movie but also keep in mind that it was still some kind of controversy to but homosexual characters in movies and so a lot of movies used little hints to reveal a character as gay. Maybe some of you can share my opinion and probably a lot of people will think it's garbage but I'm open to any kind of feedback :)

This is not a question for the site.
Character's sexualities are not precised in the movie unless they have mates. For me there are no hints about Nava's sexuality. Wolf Quest is a (badly made) unrealistic fiction so I don't think anone ever cared how real wolf pack works.
Like I said, it's a topic for fan discussion, not a real question that can be answered.
