NTWolf, Actually, when I had McAfee, it blocked me from downloading
Gimp from the official website. (Which shows how rubbish McAfee is,
plus, it's not good at blocking virus'.) |

If you're trying to download paid software illegally (like Photoshop)
by any chance, then the warnings are probably real, and you should
just get something free like Gimp or Paint.NET (both of those are said
to be very good). Try downloading from here: http://www.gimp.org/downloads/ If that still shows up as a virus, your computer is probably infected with something already (I know some viruses will claim to be "protecting" you by preventing legitimate downloads). I doubt that any real antivirus (even Norton) would block you from downloading Gimp. |

Your firewall is blocking it. Because the websites you're downloading
from are unsafe & contain virsues. Or like the others said, it may
just be acting wacky. |

I think you can edit the program to allow certain sites though, can't
you? Or at least turn it off temporarily while you download it. |

Like Troll said, your anti virus is probably blocking it. Either
you're downloading from an unsafe place, or your anti virus is no
good. You're probably either using, TendMicro, McAfee or Norton. All of which are known to be (censored) anti virus programs. |

You use some crappy antivirus or trying to download them from some
unsafe site. OR you don't have an administrator account. |
