Hey, BS, just a question on PSD linearts.

Recently, I've been trying to colour PSD linearts in PhotoShop Elements 10, but, I don't seem to be able to do it correctly, and it keeps going wrong. I can do the "layers" part to things, but when I go to colour underneath the layer, it seems to always ignore the lines above it, and colour the WHOLE picture in the selected colour. (But, the lines above it are still there, when it's done correctly, the colour is supposed to stay in the lines and look neat). However, my PhotoShop is just being a pain, and I could really do with some help.

Does anybody know of any detailed colouring PSD lineart tutorials that can help me? Or, can you help me yourself if you know how to and can explain it well?

Well, this is because Photoshop isn't magic. After you fill in the layer beneath it, you need to go back to the lineart layer and make a section around the outside of it (with the magic wand tool), and then hit the delete key on the colored layer.

Well, the way colour linearts is- 1) Paste the Lineart into the Photoshop 2) Set the Lineart layer to "Linear Burn" 3) Add a layer underneath, name it "Colour" 4) Colour your lineart on the "Colour" layer. Hope this helps!
