I started a picture on photoshop a while back, and I was just gettng back to it today and it came up with a box that said: "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop"
I haven't changed my version of Photoshop or changed the file or anything, so how can I open it? I use Photoshop Elements, and the file is a .psd file if that helps anything, so why is this happening and how can I open my picture?

I doubt a virus would be a cause of the problem, because you're
Security system (Or virus protection) would have told you. Unless you
have turned your Security system off. And usally viruses spread, so if
it was a virus, it would have spread by now. Try what Draco suggested. |

If you're able, maybe try changing the format of the file. You'd lose
your layers, but atleast you won't lose the entire image. |

Alphawolfjenna: I think its runs itself, but I honestly don't know. My
grandfather set it up for me so that it runs every so often but I
don't know how often. Maybe a week or so? Its unlikely, because I got a small preview when I clicked on the file when I was in My Pictures, and it was how I left it. No, nothing else has been running slowly or not at all, this is the only problem I have. |

I agree with mighty, sadly it might have corrupted data in it. It's
possible a virus got to the file. some questions: how often do you run virus protection? is it possibly you accidentally saved something over this file? Has your computer been running slow, or have you been having trouble with programs? |
