I haven't found any questions like this or a specific anwser. So, with that said:
I have noticed that many people create contests for others to join and yet they join along with the rest of the contributions. My question is:
If you are going to make a contest and join along with it why not just make the result yourself? Or, What is the purpose of creating one at all if you're going to do that? Aren't contests made for OTHER people than yourself to join?
For an example:
There was one contest I seen that had something to do with creating a mate for the creator's character. Many people were happy to help out, yet the memeber who created the whole thing sent in more than one entry for themselves. I find it pretty pointless and overall funny to offer your own prizes for just for yourself. You spend a lot of time making rules for others and happily giving them the instructions needed, only for the memeber ending up taking their own result and leaving everyone's hardwork wasted and made for no reason.
Unless they do not like the way they render, draw, design, etc., then that's understandable. I have did that before, and it would make more sense. However, half the time I have seen many people with the contest create characters, images, and drawings really well and sometimes only undervaule their work.
Quiet confusing in a ways, but then again....maybe its not.
I was afraid to ask this to the memebers themselves, because well...you know how some people take things like this nowadays. -.- But since there are a lot of contests out here on the sites, I thought I might as well make this a public question.
Thank you to all whom awnser.

Agreed with Paxis. I joined my own contest once and put my own entry as an example of what I am looking for. Also, it's easier to find your contest because it's under 'contests you have joined.' Those are some thoughts. |
Once I figured it out I put more of my examples into the contest text.
