DID I say you were stealing? No.
Did I point out a coincidence? Yes.

I didn't say "BAWWW LOOK YOU STOLE THIS CHARACTER" I said "This character looks like this one." AKA, that should give you the hint to change the character up a little bit before trouble starts from the real creators. I don't enjoy finding people and arguing. I simply pointed out that the character looked similar. (Leg markings, facial markings, ribbon, ears, tail, breed, color etc.) This is not a serious matter, no one should get worked up about. Sometimes there are coincidences that I get my character looking like someone else's. What do I do? I edit the character, no problem, no questions asked. You should do the same. Stop putting words into my mouth making me say that I said that "you stole from someone" If you didn't delete the comment, you would've saw that I didn't say that. :/

Honestly, I think it may be because sadly, design theft is/has been somewhat common here. The characters that they mentioned are (or at least, used to be, I don't know if they still are) very well-known characters here on Balto Source and therefore have in the past been targets for design theft. So, in some cases, people will see a character that looks similar to a popular character and immediately think "OOP! STOLEN!" whether it really was or not.

I understand your annoyance--I've been on the receiving end of these type of comments in the past, as well--but I suggest you do what I was stupid enough not to do back when I was eleven: Calmly--note the word "calmly"--explain that you didn't steal and that this was a coincidence. If you're still being bothered by them, you can report it, and after that, just ignore it.

It's really not worth the debate--it's just a character who happens to look similar to another. You didn't mean to steal, and that's fine. So even if they refuse to believe you, you still know your intentions and that's all that matters.

Ignore it. It it was really only your invention then it's okay. Some people are really overreacting when they see a similar design that is, really, nothing too difficult to come up with....

Well after looking over what I'm pretty sure what you were referring to on your character's profile I strongly disagree, I'd consider it more of a statement then accusation. Commenting and saying that your character looks like a mix between two other characters on the site isn't really accusing you of stealing. I wouldn't stress over it that much if I were you, it could easily be talked over and come to a soloution quickly. It's easy to make the mistake that they were but I doubt it should be panicked over to this extent.

Re-join and Mighty are correct. As is Pikayu. You have to approach this from that point of view, not rush to judgement. I don't see anyone accusing you of stealing either.

Well i only joined in december and this is my first question the white text was a mistake and i couldnt modify the question please dont start on me. I was just worried that my character would get reported.

If you really didn't steal it, ignore it. Report those comments for removal. Some people get the joy out of being policemen apparently. And the way I see it, there is no way to steal a character's design unless it was done on purpose (it's a 50/50 chance) and is an exact clone... What I mean is, no breed of dog or wolf's markings are copyrighted. (this does not apply to sparkle dogs) For example my character Mighty (stupid name I know). She's a wolf, and I happened to stumble across an image that looks almost like her years later after I made her. I've also seen characters that look similar to mine, but I didn't baww over it.

There are also those Balto characters... I've seen this so many times where someone will just change the color of the character. Someone else is bound to do the same thing with the same colors. Does it mean they stole it? No.

Also, Re-Join is incorrect. You can't block people from commenting. But you can block them on the forums so you can't see their posts, and on the site will only block messages in the shoutbox and PMs.

Well for a start, the text is extreamly hard to read without highlighting which is pretty frustrating in itself. But answering the question now, people are always going to hate a character no matter how little it looks like another. Posting on the internet involves the risk somebody is going to not like what you've posted. If you really are worried you should report the comments to mods to remove them from the character's profile. Or of course block the user which stops the comments from appearing entirely. Be aware though if you don't like haters you probably shouldn't be regulary posting things on the internet at all and maybe just look at others art or characters, as like I said earlier there are many young children, immature users,trolls, fans protecting another user and over-protective of their creation users on the site.

From what I can tell they never said you were stealing. Sometimes people comment that a certain character looks like or reminds them of their own. From just that comment it looks like they are only pointing out a coincidence.
If they really do think you're stealing they're wrong. A design like that is pretty obvious considering the two characters you mixed to get it.
