Close to the end of the first movie, Balto and Jenna dance around each other and then Jenna nuzzles Balto. After that she smiles and then a big simle comes on Balto's face. What were they smiling about? I could never figure it out.

I may be wrong, but it's those kinds of scenes where they use nonverbal communication, or body language to say something. In the scene you're talking about, (and this is just a guess) I think Jenna was telling Balto that she wants to be his mate, or just that she likes him back. And Balto understood what she was trying to say, and is very happy about it, so he smiles. Hopefully this helped!

I agree with Malwolsky. Jenna and Balto plays and ends up touching their noses in romantic scene. Jenna nuzzles him and smiles and Balto smiles back, because he understood thet Jenna accepted him as her mate.

it could possibly be a silent way of jenna saying 'you've done it' since she knew he was going to get the medicine and every one doubted he could do it.. although malwolsky's answer seems far more likely
