LagacieI read the real legend of Balto, and saw he was "husky", but part wolf in the movie.
Was he part wolf in real life?

Like everyone who is in the know has said, the real Balto was a full-bred Siberian husky from a line of dogs imported directly from Siberia. Neither did he live as a stray on the outskirts of Nome in an old abandoned and grounded fishing boat. He was owned (and was born in the "Little Creek" kennels of) Leonhard Seppala, a famous racer, musher and citizen of Nome (who originally emigrated there from northern Norway).
The whole wolfdog thing was created to provide the character with conflict to resolve (with antagonist characters such as Steele). Not, as some say, to make him "more interesting" (no offense to those who said so). The real dog's life was far and away interesting enough...especially AFTER the serum run.

No, in real life Balto was a purebred siberian husky. They made him half wolf to make a better (and more exiting) storyline |

Nope, he was all husky. If you look it up somewhere it should say
that. He doesn`t even look like he does in the movie. In real life he
was black with white paws and stuff ^^ |

Balto was never part wolf, only husky. Universal only made him part
wolf to make the story more interesting. |
