I've witnessed a few galleries here that have poorly edited screen grabs, and wondering how these can 'belong' to the 'artist' that changed them.

Most of these 'creations' are traced over and made paint-friendly for anyone to use. The problem is that the background, original content, and actual art is not that of the person posting them. In any case, it's an act of theft.

If this medium of 'art' is so widely accepted here, is it truely art? Or an archive of tracing children? There is nothing creative in tracing Jenna and coloring her differently to make it 'yours'. It's still stealing.

Fan art is supposed to be an image created by you only, not tracing a screengrab and calling it yours.

Well, to be honest, normal fanimages with screengrabs taken to make some sort of desktop or something are art theft too. That's why they are in the section of fan images, instead of fan art. Hence why it is not called fanart or even art, but images/renders.

Yeah some people (like me) can't actualy like animate their own pics. From my point of view it's kinda cool.

XD it's not fan art it's fan imaging, and alot of sites end up gettin grid of their fan images because of poeple like you. thats why we do not send them into fan art we knwo they are no intirely ours. thats why we don't sale them ore post them up on DA that would be theft and illagel, what is being done here is legal if it wasn't this site would have been closed down a long time ago. this post should be shut down because questions like these often cause alot of drama I.E liek over half the post in the rant board which as a matter of fact is were this SHOULD have been posted

She's not 'dissing' anyone rockingirl O_o She's free to ask questions and state her opinion, and ask for others' as well. Some will agree with her, some will disagree. Not everyone has the same opinion after all.

ok well first of all its called rendering second it's not stealing at the bottom of the site it clearly states that this is a unafficial website it's not stealing and it's alot of fun... and your user name clearly states your an "honest artist" so this subject must just make you upset im sorry that you don't care for it but you may have upset a few other people... rendering takes a LONG time and im an Honest Artist aswell ya i render my hand sometimes but the way i hear it you are dissing alot of people... Also it's called a screenshot i hoped this helped XD

Thats why its not 'fanart' it's fanIMAGES. Personally, I'm really starting to hate them myself now, everyone does them and its not unique anymore. Along with what you said it's not really 'art' at all, just tracing over someone else's, which ironically in the fanart section isn't allowed. I'd love to just get rid of them myself...

is a balto fansite we must use balto images, for make fan images must be the same style, and of course in this site everything used is copyrighted to Amblin entertainment, and used with permission
