i already splained it step by step but i don't know if gimp will work

I have gimp, 2.6. This will work but I dont know how to do it, like witch is it under, I need step to step help..

To do something like that you need ethier photoshop/gimp,paint however wont do the job.

You need photoshop or gimp. Any other program besides paint will do.

good, im not expert graphicall designer but i think you can do this

1 choose the background
2 open the image you want to blend
3 move to background layer
4 create a layer mask
5 choose the black and white gradient
6 apply the gradient, until you like the effect

is done, is this what you wanna do?
