Sourcecast is the aptly named new podcast designed specifically for all of Animation Source’s users to enjoy!  It will feature many things going on in the community, highlight news from the fans and the animation industry as a whole globally, and chat with chosen guest speakers from or related to the community.  Originally Balto678's idea, then expanded on by Lux, I decided to pick up the mantle.

Updates!

September 2, 2010:  Beginning production/planning for the fourth episode is beginning to take place!  I'd like to ask that no more anchor applications are sent in for the time being, just so that we can get things taken care of.  You are of course welcome to continue sending in applications if you'd like to help with any other area of the project!  Please submit all applications to [email protected] instead of sending them in as entries to the project page.  We don't get notifications about the entries/apps here unless we check (and we haven't been able to do so often!)

Where To Find Us

Our E-mail:  [email protected]
Mypodcast - Streaming the episodes.  No download necessary to listen.
Youtube - Episodes can be found in video form here as well!
Official Website – Not finished!
iTunes - You must have downloaded iTunes in order to get it here.  Easy to do though, and once you subscribe to it, all new episodes can automatically be downloaded when they become available.  If you don't use the link provided and instead just search for us, be forewarned - there are 3 podcasts known as Sourcecast.  Ours is, quite obviously, the one with our logo, and the one that is tagged as "clean" rather than "explicit".  We will never produce an explicit podcast.

How To Get Involved

We are still taking applications for some positions, especially non-speaking roles.  If you’re interested in becoming a host on the actual podcast, you MUST fill out the application below.  If you’d like to submit graphics or other work, just send in some examples to our e-mail address.  The application may be pmed to Aniu, or e-mailed to the Sourcecast e-mail.

*Animation Source Username:
*Position you'd like to help with (Anchor/DJ, software and editing, graphics design, music, etc.):
*Why would you like to fill this position:
*Why do you think you are qualified for it and what skills do you have that will help you aid Sourcecast:
*Will you try to be able to make it to Sourcecast recordings and pre-recording meetings:
*What other activities (in school and otherwise) are you involved in which may interfere with Sourcecast:
*Can you be available to record (most times, but not all) on short notice:
*Do you have Skype:
*What is the best way to get in contact with you, if not through pm on Animation Source:
*What time zone do you live in (or general area/country region, if you don't know.  This will ONLY be used for coordinating meeting and recording times):
*What is your weekly schedule like:
*How would you describe yourself (in roughly 5 sentences):

Hosts will be chosen based on how well they fit the project, not by how early they managed to get their forms in.

Check this out! Sourcecast now has a fan page on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sourcecast/103624929682524?v=wall I came up with the idea after seeing a fan page for another podcast that I often listen to. After I pitched the idea on the podcast's forum thread, Rusty said he liked it. And after pitching it to AC on Facebook last night, she went ahead and put it up. There's not much too it, now. But feel free to stop by and take a look, anyway. Fan page that inspired me to suggest the creation of Sourcecast's fan page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Iron-Maiden-Podcast/498547670477

Well, after a five month delay, we finally have Episode 3 available for your sonic enjoyment. EDIT: On iTunes, there are now actually 3 podcasts named Sourcecast. One of them - the one with the explicit tag - is a technology-related podcast. Then there's this one, and a third one that's music-related.

I have sent in my application.

Saberwolf--> Just fill the application mentioned in the description and send it as instructed. And don't forget to include the area you are interested in helping with. For example, I am involved in the music portion (me, Kaisho, and Kiko are working on a rock ballad version of the Balto theme "Reach For The Light", which will hopefully see use in future episodes). Again, just fill out the application, and you can either PM it to AC or e-mail it to the Sourcecast e-mail.

I'd like to be involved somehow. I don't have a mic, though...

Umm...it's a podcast. For Animation Source. For general fun and to report different things going on on the site. Was I unclear?
