Wowza, it's been a while!

Hi! I am Satomi Canine, but you can just call me Satomi or by my first name Helen. Some of you might mayyybee remember me from my original/old profile (Satomi_Canine with an underscore). I lost my details for that along the way so... here I am with a new(er) profile, haha! If we've never met before on here - nice to meet you. If you knew me back then (like 2011 when I was mostly active) - I sincerely apologize on behalf of my cringey 13 year old self for maybe saying/doing something odd - LOL!

I have been a member on Animation Source since 2010 (yikes!) but have not been active during recent years. Nostalgia has been tugging at me lately, so I felt like embracing it with some Balto fandom again. Don't know how long this is gonna last because life has a way of keeping me really busy, but even if this is just an outlet for my last week of the holidays or something I come back to now and again, I am okay with that.

I live in Cape Town, South Africa and I am currently working at a music school as a singing teacher. I have always had an interest in animation and frequently revisit my hobby of drawing animated animals (mostly canines). I used to be really set on making it a career to do animation, but the opportunities I have received in music have led me down the path I am right now and I believe I will one day pursue art again when the time is right. In the meantime, I will be practicing when I get the chance!

The style I have always aspired to achieve in my characters and drawing is definitely the classic Disney 2D type of linework. I am mostly skilled in traditional art and my favorite medium would be copic markers. I have been exploring a little with digital art the past few weeks using my phone, but I acknowledge I still have to work on it a lot. I will posting some of my creations on here as a start. I have an Instagram account where you can follow my other works as well if you'd like - @helensauerman_art. I also recently started a TikTok account where I post timelapses of my digital pieces - @helensauerman1.

Some other traits that you might or might not find useful to know about me:

I am in my 20s. My favorite animal is a wolf. I enjoy music, gaming, drawing, occasional cooking, hanging out with friends and horse riding, to name a few.

Stay tuned for some Balto related content and characters from my side when I get the chance and hope you enjoyed reading my bio. Feel free to say hi if you wanna talk! :)
