Today Nelson took his first trip outside! It was so exciting! He crawled all around the lower part of my patio just waiting for his first glimpse at sunlight! he felt the concrete benethe his nails and thet sun on his shell! It was such an amazing moment when he relized what freedom really ment! it didn't mean being able to walk  any where around in his cage, or being able to eat where he wanted. No. It ment that the world was his and it would be the way he wanted it to be and life as Nelson knew it would change forever!

Elmo's Firsts

A series on all the things Elmo tried for the first time!

Elmo was trying to blow his first gum bubble"Just blow a little harder",His friend Lisa encouraged him."I am" whyned Elmo. "Don't give-up, I know you can do it",Lisa told Elmo. "But I can't do it",Elmo dragged on. "Yes you can you can do anything you put your mind too", Lisa didn't want to see Elmo quit."Just try it one more time", encoureged Lisa."Okay", Elmo said in his half sad voice.Elmo flattened out the gum, pushed it against his teeth, opened his mouth a little bit, put his tounge on the lower part of his jaw, and started to blow."Your doing it Elmo!", Lisa cheered. "I'm doing it!" said Elmo excitedly."Pop!" his bubble broke. "Did you get the picture?" asked Elmo starting to chew his gum again."I got it", said Lisa in a cheery voice. "Now all that is left is to try it again!",said Lisa. "Okay!", Elmo said in an enthuseastic voice!
