Does anyone know how to stop the spaces in character description from disappearing?

You can also try using Gimp, FireAlpaca (which is good for getting crisp and stable lines, even with a mouse if you don't have a tablet) and Paint.net. All of these programs are free and safe.

Depending on your computer, you may be able to find other free image editing programs on the Windows or Mac app store. If you happen to be running Linux, you should have Gimp installed already, but you may be able to find other programs on the software manager.

Thank you all very much for the input, it really helped me get an idea. What I used to do was take a drawing and have it scanned by my printer then transfer the file to my laptop. I might be able to do that once more.

Photos of drawings *are* allowed as long as they are good quality and just show the drawing and nothing else (such as a desk or other objects) I believe. DT, you may be thinking of photo backgrounds, which are not allowed. 83

You'll need to scan in any hand-drawn work; they don't accept snapshots (unless that's changed, which I certainly wouldn't complain about). Hope this info helps.

Thank you for the advice; I will probably upload some hand-drawn art while I figure out how all that works. Its good to see a dedicated site like this lasting as long as it has.

I don't use any fancy programs, which quite a few members use, so I can't really help you there. Just ask around, I'm sure you'll get help on how to use them.

I personally use the default Paint and two other websites:

They're both free, but they require internet to use.

The first one is a photo editor, but I only use it for simple editing, which I usually use to make backgrounds transparent. The second one is also a photo editor, more or less to fix images that are distorted/look bad/etc., which I only use for low-resolution screencaptures from games I play.

As I am unfamiliar with how this website works, I was wondering what program you guys use to make your character images with. How does it work?
