I feel it's only going to get worse the way things are going these days. I don't know if other schools across the U.S. are doing this, but the school I used to attend is going to an all computer-based system.

Like Fallen Angel said, just stop complaining and make poor excuses while some people are trying to help you. After all it was your fault not to read the rules at the first time.

Could certainly help people like this...
Over here in the UK, we have a new test called a SPaG test (which is the abbreviation for Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar test), this measures how good we are at writing and speaking correct English. Our teachers have become aware that many of us write in SMS (I don't x'D). But, that's getting a bit off topic, I don't know whether you have such tests over there in the US, but just merely stating that since we're on the subject of grammar.
@Balto117- Both Mighty and JerseyCaptain are merely trying to help out here, don't feel offended, but it IS a rule that SMS language isn't allowed on Balto Source.
The "I'm using my phone" isn't an excuse, sometimes I use my phone when I don't have access to my computer, but I still write in full English.

No, you don't write/type just fine. You aren't using any form of grammar, and by making it "faster" is being just down right lazy, and is still SMS. I've seen that said before, and it's just stupid and sad all at the same time.
Here are a couple quotes from a news article:
- Be lenient on the rules. For example, someone posting some SMS words on shout box does not even need a warning! You need only to react if someone is behaving badly on PURPOSE, or is DISTURBING the other visitors. Focus on the MOST IMPORTANT!
- Keep the rules simple. Use common sense. Please, please, no nonsense like making lists of "the allowed and the forbidden SMS words"!!! No one is ever going to read these.

Even though Steet didn't come right out and say that SMS isn't against the rules anymore, those two quotes pretty much sum it up that SMS is allowed.

"I just read the rules sorry 'bout that I get it now okay?" Or:
"I just read the rules sorry about that I get it now okay?"
Both of those are incorrect, actually.
"I just read the rules sorry 'bout that I get it now okay?"
There should actually be a comma after rules because "sorry 'bout that" is an independent clause. There should also be a comma after that and now.
I would also like to address that "'bout" isn't proper English. You can get away with using it in a informal matter, but the proper spelling is about.
"Also I don't see how using your phone as an excuse. Because I use my phone 99% of the time to get onto BS! (I'm using it right now in fact.)"
Well, they never said they're using a phone (unless I missed it), that was just my guess seeing as how they type using typical SMS language.
Anyways, I have a smartphone myself, and I had to use it for a short time to access Animation Source while my parents were having issues with our former internet provider. As annoying and frustrating as it's to type on a phone, I typed properly with it. The problem is that people are too lazy to take the time to write properly, so they butcher the English language. I refer to this as "Textlish".
I'm probably opening up a can of worms, but I honestly don't see why kids (no offense to you, Annita) need phones in the first place. At that age, kids don't go out and about like teenagers do. Some may argue that they need them for when they're at school or at a friends's house. First of all, phones are not allowed to be used during the school day (all they are is a distraction, and a common way for kids to bully others). If a student needs to call home, then that's what the office or classroom phone is for. If they're at a friends house, then I'm sure they have a home phone they can use. There is then, of course, the matter of kids using phones to text and access the internet. All this is doing is making kids, and sadly even teenagers and young adults, stupid.
And to correct your previous comment Balto117, your I's should be uppercase, the "k" should be okay.
So your comment should be something like this (Mighty please correct me if I'm wrong):
"I just read the rules sorry 'bout that I get it now okay?" Or:
"I just read the rules sorry about that I get it now okay?"
Also I don't see how using your phone as an excuse. Because I use my phone 99% of the time to get onto BS! (I'm using it right now in fact.) Although you could text like this, it's better to write properly on sites as well okay? ^^Now I see you are ten but I'm only a year older than you! So maybe this fact makes it not look like you're being looked down upon by only older members, and maybe less stressful.
