Everything everyone said is correct, stealing art is against the rules. Using a lineart and not given credit is not allowed either. But stealing art without permission can eventually lead up to a ban. So don't do it again. No one is being rude, it's rude that you stole in the first place.

These guys do NOT pick on new members. They are trying to keep the site SAFE.

Art theft is using somebody elses art without permission. Which is clearly what you have done. Whether you've claimed it as your own or not. It IS still theft.
You won't get in trouble? Good luck with THAT. Because the mods WILL agree with us. Stealing will get you banned. I suggest you buck your ideas up or you are going to find yourself having a really tough time. And, your characters will get taken down.

Just because you say it isn't yours, it doesn't mean you can take it. If you use, you need to have permission. You just stole the artork and you desperately disclaim that you did anything wrong.

And FYI, my characters get to stay. Just because they get reported doesnt mean its over. You are so overdramatic. None of my characters are going anywhere. Even if they do get knocked off of here ill just post them somewhere else.

The simple fact is this: If you post it on the internet it will be used. Whether or not the person who uses it is honest enough to give you credit is based on pure luck.
I never took credit for anything. If the mods have a problem they can read the comments right here on my wall. What you people are doing is classified as harassment. besides, im not using their characters. just the reference for markings and body shape. You guys are just looking for new users to pick on, and it needs to stop. If id drawn my characters myself it really would have been stealing for the simple fact that i would have been drawing the same dogs but in a different position. I am not taking credit for anything, and i am honest enough to say that the images are NOT my characters, just pictures of dogs who happen to look a lot like them.

Go read the DeviantArt rules. ALL images that are not specifically marked NOT FOR USE in the title or description, may be used as long as credit is not taken for them. Ive been a DA user since the site first came out. I know what im doing.

I've been here long enough to know if you didn't get permission from the artist to use it, it is consiterd theaft and theres no way to un-report a character I say they'll be deactivated by morning

It is not stealing if you dont take credit. I did not take credit i simply used the picture as a reference. I have read over all of the rules numerous times, and have taken care not to break any of them. And, for future reference, watch your attitude.

Rule 19. Stealing is not allowed. This includes : pictures from other websites, fanarts from other artists, musics, videos, etc...anything that you didn't ask permission from the original author before using it. This applies on the whole site, including profiles. However, taking your own screenshots from films/series, or screenshots from Animation Source, is tolerated.
