Putting "do not use" on every work is overkill. It's implied.

Tatchit made this specifically for another user, that does truly imply
that it's not fair game. I try to make it as clear as possible on my
works, but with bigger artists they simply don't have the time to back
everything up as extensively as I do.
However, in the "commissions" folder (The folder the icon is in) it
does have a disclaimer that says "Work I have been commissioned for.
NOT FREE FOR USE ect." (Right here http://tatchit.deviantart.com/gallery/25331123
)
Here is her "free for use" work. (Having a folder with things people
can use also kinda implies a no touch rule on the rest of her
gallery)

Bottom line: Before you use someone's work you have to ask. If you
found it on google and can't ask, don't use it (Besides the fact that
most work on google has been stolen by random sites anyway). I've had
my art used without permission, and even for rp sites and such, so I
know how they feel. Basically ask, or use the dozens of free online
icons. Seriously, look, theres a ton. If you want art of a character
use the literal millions of free linearts out there. One more
guideline, if it doesn't give the copyright specifics on a drawing
description, assume it isn't free. Then you could ask or look
elsewhere. Hope this was helpful, I know learning the ropes helped me
out when I first came online.

ok, then if you ever get judicial problems for "violation against
author rights (copyright infringement or stolen inteligent property)"
don't get surprised...

"Seriously, I don't see it on the deviantart description! I didn't see
anything that says and I quote " do not use"."
you said that to alphawolfjenna, well the actual thing is that you may
NOT use anything without permission unless it says "free to use" in
which case you have to be pretty aware of the rules to use it, like it
can be crediting or avoiding using said work in certain matters, so if
you are interested in using someone's work i'd suggest sending that
person a note, as you talk about deviantart, and ask if you can use or
not

You cant see anything because it obvious, you are not authorized o use
someone artwork if it not say " free to ue"
In the future I suggest asking before using artwork. I know Tatchit
has a folder of work on her gallery that is specifically for public
use. You also can find some pretty awesome free icons from the wolf
comic off-white. Scroll down to where it says "free icons" theres a
ton of them. http://off-white.eu/gallery/
But most work you'll find on the web is not free. So before you use,
please ask. Thanks.
Thanks :3
And I'd prefer my drawings not be used as icons. The copyrights in the
descriptions and "do not use" badges already condone my wishes. But
thank you, I'm pleased you like my work!
Yeah, same. Well it is 11:15 pm where I am so not that late. When you
can could you message me what you would like the character to look
like, just so I can get started on the design.
Pwwa7- I can help you design a character if you would like, you tell
me what you would like it to look like, what species(Wolf, dog,
wolfdog, whatever) and what colors. Then you decide the information, I
have a bio I use all the time that I can PM to you and you just fill
it in.
Pwwa7, it's text talk. Such as 'u' instead of you, '4' instead of
'for'.
There are a lot of members on this site that learned English as a
second language, so it confuses them. Not using text talk or slurs
helps minimize confusion for everyone.
Alasken, just a friendly heads up the comma after "Typing in all caps"
isn't needed, it gives a awkward pause between the sentence. Also, not
everyone finds it easy to make characters, bro.
Another thing, if you have trouble making characters, look at my two
characters. And lots of others. Take a look at the rules, and SMS
talk isn't allowed neither.

As for characters, just go to the characters section in the left menu there, and 'create character'. Before you do that though, there are also rules for them, here: http://www.animationsource.org/board/post1497457.html#p1497457 and http://www.animationsource.org [...] -rules-bad-renders-t35764.html
