Fan Art Features

First off, we have . This artist has been with us for some time, and has made amazing improvements. She has a very unique style, that is easily recognizable. She has an irresitably cute Wolf.250-ish style. Which brings me too...

Maybe you've already noticed it (why do I have to always start with that? lol), but there's a new section on the site : fan characters. (in the left menu)
You can now "officially" create a page for each of your own characters. The goal is to allow to link your characters with your fan creations (eg : if one of your characters appear in several of your fanfics, or even fanfics from other authors, these fanfics will be listed in the character page)
In a way, it allows to create a "character search engine". (even though there's no search form yet, but the main site search engine can [...]

immediately generated, and you only have to try it!

First of all, I apologize for not posting the "Weekly Features" not so weekly. So, to make it easier on all of us, I decided to make it bi-weekly (that is, posting a feature every two weeks).

Secondly, I'd like to remind everyone of a few fanart rules.
1. Only drawings that you made yourself, or are colored fanarts (with the owners permission and/or copyrights on them) are allowed in your fan art gallery.

2. You must have at least one Balto drawing in your gallery. If not, your gallery will not be accepted until you do.

3. Of course, do not steal! This goes for poses, characters, pictures, [...]

Dear Balto Source Members,
Due to he overwhelming amount of Fan-Images and Graphcs in the Fan-Arts/Images section we have been cleaning out some of the poor and unedited screen shots. We are well aware many members do not have photoshop or a editig program other then Paint. But that is no exuse for a bad graphic or edit. We will no longer be accepting poor or unedited fan-graphcis and images on the site. These are begging to literally spam up the gallery section. I have faith that all of our members are capable of providing the site with beautiful fan-made graphics, edits [...]

The contest section on the forums should have disappear this month, to let the section on the site be used instead.

I have changed my mind. As I didn't work enough on the current contest section to entirely replace the forum-based one, and also because many of you requested it, I will re-open the forum section. (this means that you can post new topics) If there are duplicates, then too bad. I will try to think of ways to reorganize this better later.

It's a bit old but, I should inform you, scince that's were Balto was created.

Hello, Balto Sourcians. I apologize, yet again, for my lack of posts to the Fan News.

First of all, I would like to inform you that the moderators are discussing fan image "renders." The current discussion is whether or not they should be allowed. The following is now the status for "renders" (what is not allowed):
-Unedited screenshots
-Badly modified screenshots
-Drawings
-Real photos
-Stolen images
-Images of creatures not related to Balto
-Images not giving proper citation.

Also, I will be running the Fan Arts and Images "corner" rather differently now. I will, each week, "feature" two [...]

I've corrected the forums fonts for Firefox 3.0 : they looked "giant" compared to the normal sizes. It was getting annoying to browse the forums like this, so I had to do it.

There are 4 more "news editors" who will post news on Lion King Source :

ShadowWolfAJ, Ichigo Kurosaki, Walto Disney, Black Promises

Congrats to them!
I especially liked the fact that I received a dozen of entries, it appears that Lion King Source is still appreciated.

Also, sorry for the slow updates, but I just can't do much more these days. When I've spent the whole day programming at my job, I don't feel like [...]

I have made many changes to the way the fanarts can be managed on the site. So, if you find some bugs, report them to me.

I did these changes because it will make things easier for me to manage drawings, and at the same time I finally corrected the bug which would prevent you from deleting your drawings.

I have also added a "friend list" option : you can go to someone's profile and add him/her into your friend list, so that you'll be able to get a shortcut to contact him, and will be able to see his/her newest drawings, etc...(it's not complete yet, but the basic stuff is there)
I think it [...]

I thought that I made a mistake by removing the mate box, that so many visitors on the site liked.
After all, I don't care about the consequences, it's not my responsability.
So I decided to put it back.

Hello, BaltoSource community! I hope you've all had a great Easter Break, and an even better March! It's time to take a look at the forums again. We'll go in the order of the boards, so let's start off with our first topic, which is located in the Suggestions section.

As of February 17th 2008, all mate material must be removies from your profiles!

As said before, it is also to keep out of the shout boxes, too.

The message that I recieved, and in the Topic Line of the shout box, reads as follows:

"ATTENTION! All members which have mate content in their profiles must remove them by the end of this week (February 17th 2008) due to the "No mates are allowed" policy. Those who will still have mate information after the mentioned date will be banned without any notice."

Please, all members comply with this new "rule" -- no one likes to be banned and [...]

My apologies for not posting in a while, Community. Lets get down to business:

First of all, congratulations to for getting the Fanart of the Day title!

I would also like to remind the site of a few things:
-MATE TALKS ARE BEING BANNED ENTIRELY. You can still have "mates" in Private Messages (PMs), yes, but no longer in profiles or, as usual, the Shout boxes or Forums.
-Art theft still isn't allowed.
-New members should read the rules, understand them, and follow them. No mod likes to ban anyone!

Also, has finally re-joined us in the Fan-arts community; back from the banned box after a [...]

Who did I pick today? Give a hand to, Kari! This video,"on my own," Is filled with messeges. Can you find the hidden messeges?

Fan Music.

There are still not many fan musics. But here is one, by Danman. "Freedon's calling". Click here to play.

Fan Gamebook

By Highlandwolf,"Alues Quest." She finds a new home on the land that she came too. can you help her? to play.

That's all I have for now. ^^

This is the problem when having to deal with external programs... (and why I prefer to do program myself when it's possible!)

Deezer (the site which offered the music player) has changed, and the embedded music player with it. Not mentionning that the new one is really not nice compared to the previous one (you can't choose which music to play...), it caused some errors on the site. So, I have decided to disable it until they solve that problem (hopefully)

They've said they will offer to use the previous music player soon, so I hope this is true...Stay tuned.

I found this while checking the first petition we created. Someone name Len Green signed and added these comments :

I worked on the first one. The best film I've worked on. One reason the film didn't make it. Amblimation was shut down and employees transfered to LA to Start Dreamworks. Since Steven S started DW it became Universals release and Universal was also sold that year. BAsicly the film was lost in the shuffle. At least that's the way we all felt about it. Only animated film finished on time and under budget. Thanks to a great director Simon Wells.

I checked if this was true, [...]

We all know that Universal has no plan for making a Balto 4, and that it's been a long time since they've forgotten everything about An American Tail.

And now, it's Land Before Time turn...

It's now "official" : Universal has stopped with the Land Before Time sequels, as well as the TV series.

This is a little bit of information I've found on a reliable site :

Universal Cartoon Studios has shuttered the long-running Land Before Time and continues with the popular Curious George, delighting the tots on PBS.
