Balto

Balto is a feature-length film, produced by the Amblimation studios from Steven Spielberg, known for several other animated films such as "An American Tail", "Fievel Goes West" or "Land Before Time".

Released in 1995 in the USA, and mid-1996 in Europe, the movie didn't attract the crowd and didn't encounter the deserved success. That's the reason it is not much known compared to Disney or even Dreamworks movies, and yet...

Based on real facts, this cartoon relate the story of Balto, a brave sled dog, who brought back an antidiphtheria serum in order to save children, in Alaska (1925).

Many famous people have taken part in it, starting with Spielberg of course, as an executive producer (besides, we can even see a wink to "ET" in Balto), Simon Wells as the director/producer, and James Horner as the soundtrack composer (" Titanic ", " Braveheart ", " Alien "...and all the other Amblimation movies)

Nowadays, Amblimation has disappeared, in fact just after the release of this film, and the studios had been retaken with the help of an old Disney director for the conception of another animated movie, "The Prince of Egypt". And so was born Dreamworks...

And there Santa-Cruz has said most of my opinions there. Balto 1 was far better, and the animation, a LOT better than the sequels. The singing in the sequels were indeed very annoying. And yes, there were indeed a lot of unnecessary characters.
But, Santa Cruz has pretty much said it all.

Herobrin e 101	August 21, 2012

I prefer the first Balto movie out of three. I don't know...the other two sequals were poor quality, lack of character design, and just downright annoying...Balto 1 had the best movie quality and with detailed character design. The first movie had invited me in and was more passionate and serious torwards it's story but the other two sequels were cheesy with their singing and unnecessary characters. The first Balto movie was the BEST of all in my opinion.

and last year i got hooked on it again still my fave

luv u steel

Ilovewol ves	August 01, 2011

The first is by far my favorite of the three movies. In my opinion, the 2nd and 3rd both sucked. In the 1st, the voices were better, the plot was better, and the animation was better. I can sit and watch the 1st over and over, and I can't even watch 10 minutes of the 2nd or 3rd without getting bored of it. They shouldn't have even wasted their time making squeals. The 1st Balto is one of my favorite movies and probably always will be!

MatthewS wedenFin nish	June 15, 2011

I saw Balto 1 years 2008th When I first saw omsalgen I do not like him. This summer I saw some clips on Youtube for real Balto in Central Park in New York. I believe in him very much than other Swedish. My whole school knows nothing about him!

"What did you like the movie?" I thought it was good story, characters and voices!

BaltoLov er210	May 30, 2011
